Forest boat house, rural Maine

Sometimes the simple things are very elegant. This tranquil scene along a rural road caught me by surprise while on the way to a coastal lighthouse. While the usual fall colors surrounded the view as I considered how to make the image, I was mostly keyed in on the sooty black paint of the doors, accented by the clean white trim around the edges. Cattails in soft focus, frame the reflective image under the low light of an overcast sky just after sunrise.
