Burro Family, Red Rock Canyon
This Jenny (the mama) leads her foal and its father on a casual and ambling walk through the desert inside the boundaries of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, just west of Las Vegas in southern Nevada. These amusing survivors of the 20th century used to be the standard of performance for hauling supplies, gear and ore for early mine prospectors. Now so common, verging on the edge of nuisance, wild burros are nevertheless visually delightful and amusing. Just don't feed them or reach a hand out for a pet. You'll likely get more than you expected.
