Fall color on the Sandy River
While exploring a rural byway along the Sandy River in Maine, I came upon this combination of fall color and classical composition - I couldn't resist. Light rain had been falling much of the day and luckily, it had abated when I climbed through a screen of trees and down the bank on the other side. By the time I spent nearly half an hour trying different views, this one, my second image of about a dozen, turned out to be the most successful. It's a place I had never been before, and I may never visit again. Still, the time and effort was worth it.
