Mountain Miracle: Longspur lupine, Schell Creek Range
Mountain Miracle: Longspur lupine, Schell Creek Range
It seems miraculous that lush spring blooms with rich color like this could bloom at altitudes of 8,000-9,000 feet where frigid snow banks cover mountain peaks for much of the year. Yet there they are in knee-deep flower fields extending for miles. This variety is a two-color species in white and yellow.
